A bond issued by a corporation to an investor as a means of raising money. The par value, otherwise known as face value, of the bond is repaid when the bond matures. In addition, interest is paid at set intervals and the bonds can be traded on major exchanges. Because bonds are taxable, they are also offered in tax wrappers such as
ISAs (Individual Savings Accounts).
